The authorities of the Russian Federation and ExxonMobil signed a settlement agreement on a tax dispute around the project «Sakhalin-1», reports the press service of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation.

«September 12 settlement agreement was signed between Russia and ExxonMobil, in legal proceedings under the claim about collecting of money funds on the agreement on production section under the project «Sakhalin-1″. The parties have reached a mutually beneficial compromise,» — said in the message.

On behalf of the Russian Federation the settlement agreement was signed by Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov, noted in a press-service. The representative of the press service of ExxonMobil has also told RIA Novosti that the settlement agreement was reached. «Details of the settlement agreement confidential,» he said.

Last week, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the government has agreed with ExxonMobil on the resolution of the crisis on the project «Sakhalin-1».

ExxonMobil previously filed in the Stockholm arbitration suit against Russia on the reimbursement of taxes on «Sakhalin-1». The company tried to achieve for «Sakhalin-1» reducing the profit tax from 35% to 20% and to recover overpayments, according to her, for seven years. The amount of the claim — 637 million dollars.

The operator of the shelf project «Sakhalin-1» implemented on the PSA terms, is the structure of ExxonMobil — «ekson Neftegaz limited» with a share of 30%. Other members of the project Japanese Sodeco (30%), Rosneft (20%), Indian ONGC (20%).
