The Ministry of culture wants to attract a record number of visitors to the exhibition from the collection of the Russian collector and art patron Ivan Morozov, which opens at the Museum of the Foundation Louis Vuitton in Paris, said Minister of culture Vladimir Medinsky in an interview to the French newspaper Figaro.

The Minister recalled that the exhibition «Masterpieces of new art. The collection of S. I. Shchukin,» which was held at the end of last year, the Museum Louis Vuitton Foundation, and presented the exhibits from the Hermitage and the Pushkin Museum. Pushkin, in particular the paintings of Kandinsky and Malevich, was visited by 1.25 million people.

The exhibition «Masterpieces of new art. Collection Shchukin» was held in Paris in late 2016 – early 2017. The exhibition comprised 22 paintings by Matisse, 29 works by Picasso, 12 — Gauguin, eight Cezanne and Monet. The Museum of the Foundation Louis Vuitton was exposed to 158 works on four floors. The bulk of the artifacts for the trip to Paris gave the Hermitage and the Pushkin Museum. Pushkin 62 and 64, respectively, for another 15 paintings came from the Tretyakov gallery. Supplemented exhibition of paintings, who managed to get from Rostov, Saratov and Kirov region, as well as foreign collections from the Netherlands, Greece, France, Monaco and the United States.
