Russia ranks fourth in the number of fish caught in the world in 2016, it reached a record 4.7 million tons. According to the Agency, the rise in price of fish is not due to its high cost fishermen themselves, and with the margin of intermediaries. Often the counterfeiters are changing one fish species to another, cheaper: mostly it happens with cod, and valuable salmon species. According to Nosova, Roskontrol revealed several cases of frozen cod substitute for haddock, Pollock and hake. A different quality of fish products, according to the Agency, did not meet the packaging Standards; on the canned food I put the wrong fat content and salt fish — quantity of preservatives.
