The coming weekend Muscovites and guests of the capital can spend in a large-scale exhibition of the French sculptor of the first half of the twentieth century Constantin Brancusi in the «Multimedia Art Museum», or to take in experiences the tragic loss in the play «Dedication to eve» at the theater Vakhtangov, to familiarize themselves with the equipment of powder painting in the exhibition «October» of the Chinese artist Cai Guoqiang and see the play based on the classic works of Pushkin’s «Little tragedies» in the «Gogol-center».

Exhibition

In the «Multimedia Art Museum» exhibition one of the most famous sculptors of the XX century of Constantin Brancusi (1876 – 1957). He was always an innovator and experimenter, boldly using different materials — wood, stone, bronze, marble, as well as combining the subject with media art technology of the time. Contemporaries said that he always was dissatisfied with how other photographers shoot it works, so took over the camera himself. Using film and photography, he sought to convey the dynamics of the sculpture, to demonstrate their inward movement.

The authorship of Brancusi belongs to the famous portraits of Irish writer James Joyce, animal drawings, portraits and self-portraits. For the first time in Russia so widely acquainted with the works of the Frenchman. Exhibits for the exhibition provided by the Paris Centre Pompidou.

This week the main show floor of the Pushkin Museum Pushkin has turned into a giant installation, interpreting a century of revolution in Russia thanks to the work of Chinese artist Cai Guoqiang. Feature of his method is that he creates his works in the technique of powder painting.

Guoqiang made a special trip to Moscow in advance, together with numerous volunteers to create these unique paintings for the exhibition «October». In the courtyard of the Museum is a large-scale installation, «Fall», consisting of hundreds of baby Cribs and strollers, within which grow real birch trees in tubs. The Central part of the core of the exhibition is a three-part installation called «People». The center of the composition — «Earth», symbolizing the fertile field is a huge field of spikes, in the center of which cut the Soviet symbols: the hammer, sickle and star. On the two sides of the powder painting black and white «River» and vivid «Garden».

In addition, guests will see a «Selfie on the background of the painting of Ivan Kramskoy» and the triptych «Malevich and the red star over red square» in which Guoqiang comprehend the main Suprematist works of Kazimir Malevich.

Theatre

Saturday on the stage of the Moscow theater «Gogol-center» will host one of the premiere of the play «Little tragedies». Premiere of this production was without artistic Director of theatre Kirill Serebrennikov, who is under house arrest. In this work he made in two ways — the Director and artist.
