South Korean Director Kim Ki-Duk received at the XV open festival of cinema and theatre «Amur autumn» in the Amur region award for contribution in world cinema, the correspondent of RIA Novosti news from the opening ceremony of the festival.

As previously reported, Kim Ki-Duk is a special guest of the festival, according to tradition, several awards are awarded at the opening ceremony.

«I’m very grateful for the invitation, I was happy to meet the audience, fans of my work. In a world of many differences between people, but the cinema has no boundaries. So let’s use movies to love and respect each other,» said Kim Ki-Duk. South Korean Director has arrived to Blagoveshchensk for two days. The prize for contribution to world cinema awarded with «Amur autumn» for the first time.

Jubilee «Amur autumn» was launched in Blagoveshchensk on September 16, this year for the first time in the framework of the show will be a competition of feature films, which will feature nine foreign films, eight of them premieres in Russia.

The international competition will take place at the festival for the first time in Russian competition full meter in Blagoveshchensk will be presented 11 films, including seven premieres, the jury and the audience will see 24 short films made in Russia in 2016 and 2017. The festival, which is expected by the organizers, will be attended by over 80 thousand people, September 24. Guests and participants of the festival will be more than 350 filmmakers, public figures, musicians and artists, 173 people have already arrived in Blagoveshchensk.
