Russia’s first monument to the defenders of nature will open in the Primorye Ussuriysk, reports the Center for the conservation of the Amur tiger.

The opening will take place on September 23 the administration of Ussuriysk. Composition «monument to the worker of goskomrezerva» will be the first in Russia dedicated to the people standing on guard of the nature. She created and donated to the city by the centre «Amur tiger».

«New sculptural composition is a symbol of respect for the hard service of the hunting management Department and another public reminder of the need to preserve nature and coexistence with it in harmony. The opening will take place in the framework of the Year of ecology and the Year of specially protected natural territories in Russia», — stated in the message.

In the centre of the exhibition is the figure of the employee of the hunting supervision, sitting on a log with a tiger cub on his hands. According to legend, the inspector saved the cub after poachers killed a tigress-mother. Ussuriysk has chosen for the monument as the unofficial capital of the Ussuri taiga and the center of the range of Amur tigers in Primorye.
