More than a third of Russians (35%) are responsible for the safety of their personal data to the government or Bank, while 14% take care of it, a recent poll by the all-Russia centre of studying of public opinion.

It is noted that 42% of 45-59 year olds and 39% among 60-year-old citizens of the state enjoy protection of personal data. The service is running 38% of people with secondary and specialized secondary education, and 37% and 36% of those who assess their financial situation as average or poor.

It is reported that more than half of respondents know how the state can protect personal data of citizens. Among these methods, 31% of respondents referred to the control of the Central Bank and the permission to processing their customers ‘ data. About a quarter of the citizens — 26% — had heard about the protection of data by electronic signature and control of the intelligence services.

The survey revealed that in the presence of your own electronic signature 56% of Russians would pick the signature with maximum protection — this proportion is high in all social groups regardless of gender, age and financial situation. The minimum level of reliability would prefer only 10% of respondents.

Previously, the newspaper «Izvestia» reported that the Pension Fund of Russia and private pension funds feel unsafe simplification of the current legislation on the transition of clients between NPF using a simple electronic signature.

Poll «polls-Sputnik» was held on 16-17 September at the request of the Institute of regional problems among 1,200 Russians aged 18 years. For a given sample size the maximum error with 95% probability does not exceed 3.5%.
