The negotiations between Russia and China on gas supplies to China from the Far East are in an advanced stage and close to completion, told reporters Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich following the results of session of the intergovernmental Commission of the two countries in Beijing.

In September 2015, «Gazprom» and CNPC signed a Memorandum on gas supplies to China from Far East Russia through a new pipeline. It is assumed that the resource base for these supplies will be deposits of Sakhalin. In December 2015, the head of «Gazprom» and CNPC signed a work plan for the project of gas supplies to China by pipeline from the Far East. The plan, in particular, involves a feasibility study of the project and analysis of the market.
