Japan supports the speech of the President of the United States Donald trump at the UN General Assembly, at a press conference in Tokyo, said Secretary General of the government of Japan Acehide Suga.

«The US President Donald trump gave a speech at the UN General Assembly on a wide range of international issues, including the DPRK issue. He reiterated the need to force North Korea to change its policy, to increase pressure on the DPRK, calling for the cooperation of the international community, including Russia and China. We commend it,» — said Suga.

In addition, the speaker of the government noted the attention that the American President has given the problem and forcibly held in the DPRK of Japanese citizens.

The President «told about the problem held in the DPRK the Japanese hostages (Japanese, abducted in 1970-1980 years North Korean special services – ed.). It is important that he demonstrated a desire to deal with this problem», — said the representative of the government.

At the same time, he did not comment on trump’s statement that the US can destroy North Korea.

«I will refrain from commenting, but (I have to say. that) the leverage and the deterrence of the Japan-us Alliance from the point of view of defence, security and peace in the region,» said Suga.

Earlier, U.S. President Donald trump, speaking at the UN, said that the United States will have no choice but to destroy the DPRK, if it threatened the United States.
