The government’s draft plan of implementation of the «Decade for childhood» does not contain specific measures for families with children, according to the Senator Elena Mizulina.

Public Council under the Ministry of labour and social development holds a discussion prepared by the government of the Russian Federation of draft of plan of main measures till 2020 held in the framework of the «Decade for childhood», approved by the decree of the President of the Russian Federation.

«Many community and parent organizations was sent to the Russian government their proposals and comments. Suggestions from the parent community was not considered anything», — said Mizulina told reporters.

According to her, the draft action plan there is nothing relevant to families with children, for example, measures that would protect the family from destruction and tyranny, from juvenile risks. «No document and specific measures regarding the issue of nonpayment of child support, provision of housing for young families, measures to support large families,» she added.

The Senator also noted that the document was not presented for wide public discussion involving the media, the citizens did not know that such a document exists. «The lack of discussion has led to the fact that the draft action plan is of a purely departmental nature. Of the 101 proposed activities that should be aimed at supporting the interests of children, at least 67 have targeted departmental in nature», — said Mizulina.

The legislator believes that the action plan for the implementation of the «Decade for childhood» should include specific measures that are understandable to each family and each parent. «The plan should include specific steps and actions. Every family should read the document and understand what she’s going to get, and what measures of support can expect,» she said.
