The Governor of Penza Ivan Belozertsev has suggested to deputies of the legislative Assembly of new convocation to elect a representative in the Federation Council from the legislative authorities of the region Deputy Oleg Melnichenko, who previously held the post of Deputy presidential envoy in the Volga Federal district, said on Wednesday the regional government.

The head of the region made a proposal on Wednesday at a meeting of the regional political Council of party «United Russia».

«A member of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation – the representative from legislative Assembly of the Penza region of the sixth convocation Ivan Belozertsev has nominated elected Deputy of the regional Parliament Oleg Melnichenko», — stated in the message.

Belozertsev noted that counts on the support of deputies of the regional Parliament. «I hope that the legislative Assembly of region I in this issue support. I have no doubt that our fellow countryman Oleg Vladimirovich Melnichenko… do not lose connection with the Penza region, will continue to support our region», — quotes words of the Governor of the regional government.

The current Senator from the legislature of the Penza region Viktor Kondrashin, which is a member of the Federation Council on August 11, 2015, elected on the list of «United Russia» the Deputy of regional legislative Assembly, but his candidacy for Senator yet has not been nominated.

Elections of deputies of legislative Assembly of the Penza region was held on 10 September. For 5 years elected 36 members: 18 on party lists and single-mandate is still the same. According to the final election Committee, United Russia received 32 mandates (18 of them single-mandate), the Communist party, LDPR and «Fair Russia» — one.
