The head of Mordovia Vladimir Volkov signed a decree conferring the ex-Russian Ambassador to US Sergey Kislyak by the office of Senator from the region, told RIA Novosti on Wednesday the press service of the head region.

After a victory on elections of the head of Mordovia Volkov said that «had already decided on the candidate on a post of the Senator is Sergey Ivanovich Kislyak,» and after taking office planned to execute all necessary documents. Elected head of the Republic took office on September 19.

«The head of Mordovia Vladimir Volkov signed on 19 September a decree granting Sergei Kislyak the powers of a member of the Council of Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation — representative from Executive government authority of the Republic of Mordovia», — said the press service.
