Bilateral relations between Washington and Tehran were not discussed at the Ministerial meeting of Iran and the «six» of international mediators, said the head of European diplomacy Federica Mogherini at the end of the negotiations.

«If the US and Iran want to organize multilateral negotiations on their bilateral relationship, I’d be glad to create a base for it. But this issue was not discussed at today’s meeting,» said Mogherini reporters.

The Ministerial meeting was held on the sidelines of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly.

According to its results, Mogherini stated that the Joint comprehensive plan of action, developed in 2015, including the works, the deal is saved and the resumption of negotiations on the agreement is not required.

Iran and «six» of international mediators in July 2015 have reached a historic agreement on the settlement of the longstanding problem of the Iranian atom. Lengthy negotiations culminated in the adoption of a Joint comprehensive plan of action (SVPD), which is completely removed from Iran’s previously imposed economic and financial sanctions by the UN security Council, US and EU in exchange for the confirmation of the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program.
