Russia considers it unacceptable to enter into a supplementary agreement with EU on gas pipeline project «Northern stream-2», said Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev at a press conference after talks with his Finnish counterpart.

He noted that Finland belongs structurally to the «Nord stream-2» as a commercial project, while the position of the EC is not so pragmatic.

«(The position of the EC — ed) is to offer to Russia to sign a separate agreement on the «Nord stream-2″. In our view, is unacceptable from the point of view of equal treatment of all investors as the similar projects implemented without agreements on the basis of bilateral agreements,» Medvedev said.

The European Commission seeks to bring the gas pipeline «Nord stream-2» under the action of a number of EU rules, under which he now misses. To carry out the relevant negotiations with Russia to her if required

one special mandate, which must be approved by the Council of the EU, i.e. the countries of the Union.

The project «Northern stream-2» involves the construction of two pipelines with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas off the coast of Russia through the Baltic sea to Germany. The new pipeline is planned to be build next to the existing «Northern stream».
