The Central election Commission of the Russian Federation hopes among international observers at the presidential election in 2018, in a new capacity brought the mission of the Shanghai cooperation organization, which includes India and Pakistan, told RIA Novosti member of the Russian CEC Nikolai Levichev, who oversees the office of international cooperation.

International conference «Contemporary electoral trends in a multipolar world», organized by the Russian Central election Commission was held on Thursday in Moscow. It was attended by election officials from many countries of the former Soviet Union and other States, representatives of the Shanghai cooperation organization (SCO) Council of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.

Levichev has reminded that the official invitation to the presidential elections, the CEC will be able to send out only after the elections are announced.

«But for anybody not a secret, when they take place. In all countries, a schedule of elections, all interested in the mutual exchange of observers – both within the framework of international missions, and on a bilateral basis. So I can say that we hope that the election of the President in his new capacity brought the mission of the SCO,» — said the representative of the CEC.

He noted that the international conference organized by the CEC, took part including representatives of the two countries, which have recently become members of the SCO – is Pakistan and the largest democracy in the world India, where today there are 844 million voters.

With regard to the dispatch of observers in the framework of bilateral cooperation with the CEC, representatives of countries participating in the conference, has also expressed interest in monitoring the upcoming elections. According to Levicheva, our international colleagues recognize the importance of these elections: everyone understands that this is a significant event not only in the political life of the country, it is important for the entire post-Soviet space, if not the entire world, he said.

Earlier, the CEC Chairman, Ella Pamfilova, addressing the participants of the conference in Moscow, invited them all to observe the presidential elections in 2018, noting that Russia is open for observers and waiting for all who is interested in it. The main thing for the CEC, stressed the Minister that this monitoring was the most impartial, honest and professional.
