Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on the sidelines of the Russian-Finnish cultural forum that in the 80’s, he would not believe, knowing that to give country’s highest award in the Russian Federation, not the Soviet Union.

On Thursday, Medvedev has awarded the legal scholar George Tolstoy, who taught the Prime Minister in his student years, the order «For merits before Fatherland» I degree.

«If I were in the 85 year, when Yury I got the course I read, someone said many years later, I present the highest award of our country, which by that time will be called the Russian Federation, Yuri Kirillovich Tolstoy — I would never have believed it, I would have thought it the ravings of a madman.
