In order to extend the life and reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases, a person needs to be physically active 150 minutes a week. This is evidenced by the results of a study conducted by scientists from the canadian McMaster University, for their article published in the journal The Lancet.

According to Scott Lear (Scott Lear), one of the authors of the study do not have to go to the gym, pool or get up on the treadmill: enough to walk to work or do house cleaning.

The study involved more than 130 thousand people from 17 countries. Account of the social and economic status of the participants, their lifestyle, medical history. Respondents also indicated in the questionnaires, how often do sports.

After almost seven years of observations, scientists came to the conclusion that a half-hour activity for five days reduces the risk of death by 28% and heart disease by 20%. Increase the intensity of physical load is further improved results: people who pay more than 750 minutes a week brisk walking, the risk of premature death decreases by 36%.
