China in the implementation of UN security Council resolution 2375 October 1 of this year will limit the supply of oil products to the DPRK, according to the website of the Ministry of Commerce of China.

«In the framework of the implementation of UN security Council resolution 2375 and in accordance with the trade law of the PRC adopted the following measures concerning certain products of import-export trade with the DPRK … October 1, 2017 limit the export to the DPRK of petroleum products,» — said in a statement.

It is noted that «from 1 October 2017 to 31 December 2017 all member countries of the UN cannot export to the DPRK more than 500 thousand barrels of oil (corresponding to 60 thousand tons), and from 1 January 2018 not more than 2 million barrels (240 thousand tons) annually.»

North Korea, on 3 September announced the successful test of a hydrogen warhead, which is designed to equip Intercontinental ballistic missiles. It was the sixth nuclear test by Pyongyang. The week before the DPRK tested a ballistic missile that flew over Japan.

In connection with these events, the UN security Council unanimously imposed new sanctions against the DPRK, which will significantly limit the export and import capabilities of Pyongyang. Resolution 2375 set the most stringent UN sanctions regime in the twenty-first century.

Earlier, Russia and China offered the DPRK to declare a moratorium on nuclear tests and missile launches, and South Korea and the United States to refrain from conducting exercises in the region to stabilize the situation on the Peninsula, but in Washington, this initiative was ignored.
