Iraqi Kurdistan appreciates the position of Russia in a referendum on independence autonomy from Baghdad, said in an interview with RIA Novosti, the commander of the Peshmerga (Kurdish armed forces) General Sirwan Barzani.

On the eve of Iran and Turkey started exercises near the border with Iraqi Kurdistan, Iran also closed its sky for air service with the authority. Official Baghdad has demanded from foreign powers to transfer under his control all border crossings with Kurdistan and maintain all oil deal with Baghdad.

Earlier, foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov said that the legitimate aspirations of the Kurds must be implemented peacefully and within international law. But the press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that Russia stands for the integrity of the middle Eastern countries.
