You must fight for the abolition of international roaming, starting with its abolition between the two countries, said the head of the Federal Antimonopoly service of Russia Igor Artemyev.

Currently, the FAS and the operators of the «big four» are working on the abolition of roaming charges in the Russian Federation. According to the requirement of the Ministry, the company should eliminate the difference in rates in the home region and travel in Russia until 15 December.

The Ministry of communications of the Russian Federation also is working with the operators of the abolition of roaming between the countries of the Eurasian economic Union. The European Union of 15 June 2017 abolished roaming charges for subscribers of the mobile communications companies of the EU.

Artemyev said that you need to start with the abolition of roaming charges within the EEU. «Ultimately, we have a significant way to fight to avoid international roaming at all,» — said Artemyev in an interview to «Russia 24».

According to him, the abolition of international roaming is a «bright future».

«Concerning the Customs Union, we must strive to ensure that in the next two to three years, such decisions were taken», — he added.
