The Iraqi government will not conduct negotiations with the regional government of Iraqi Kurdistan on the results of the referendum on independence, reports Reuters with reference to the Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi.

«We are not ready to discuss or hold a dialogue on the results of the referendum because it is unconstitutional», — quotes Agency the words of al-Abadi.

Earlier it was reported that, according to preliminary figures, the referendum was attended by about 80% from the 5.2 million Kurds included in the voter lists.

The authorities of the Autonomous region Iraqi Kurdistan unilaterally call a referendum on secession from Iraq on September 25. Baghdad called the referendum violated the Constitution, was opposed by the Parliament and the Supreme court. Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said that the Iraqi authorities are ready to steps to preserve the integrity of the country, particularly military intervention, if the referendum would lead to violence.

The referendum was criticized by many countries, including the United States, the Arab League and Iraq’s neighbors — Turkey and Iran — have their own Kurdish community. Iran has closed the flights to Iraqi Kurdistan at the request of Baghdad and held at the border military exercises.

The Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has previously stated about the Kurdish referendum that the legitimate aspirations of the Kurds must be implemented peacefully and within international law. Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that Russia stands for the integrity of the middle Eastern countries.
