Construction and installation work on the launch of the second phase of development of the Odoptu field in the framework of the project «Sakhalin-1» are in the final stage, said on Wednesday the Governor of the Sakhalin region Oleg Kozhemyako.

«Under the project «Sakhalin-1″ completed construction and installation works within the second phase of the development of deposits of Odoptu… Additional volumes of hydrocarbon production due to the implementation of the second phase in 2025 will be 1.8 million tons per year», Kozhemyako said during a speech at the conference «Oil and gas of Sakhalin».

In March, the American ExxonMobil, which owns 30% in the project «Sakhalin-1», reported that the launch of the second phase of development of the Odoptu field offshore Sakhalin is expected by the end of 2017.

The Odoptu field, along with fields, Chayvo and Arkutun-Dagi located on the northeast shelf of Sakhalin island in the sea of Okhotsk. The development of these three offshore fields takes place in the framework of the project «Sakhalin-1». The project is realized on conditions of agreements on production section (SRP), which entered into force in 1996. The operator of the project with a share of 30% stands Exxon Neftegas Ltd, «Rosneft» — 20%, Japanese Sodeco — 30%, Indian ONGC — 20%. Potential recoverable reserves for the three fields of the project are estimated approximately in 307 million tons of oil and 485 billion cubic meters of gas. Production at the field Odoptu coastal site began in 2010.
