The leadership of the Kostroma region have approved a draft local law on family support of the elderly in the near future the document will be reviewed by the Duma, reported the administration of the region.

The draft law has passed wide public discussion. The development of the document were representatives of law enforcement agencies, Federal agencies, members. Governor Sergey Sitnikov has set the task to ensure effective mechanisms to protect older workers from fraud and unscrupulous people, and personally held several meetings with the public.

«This is a special category of the population. Older people like children but are in need of assistance but also the protection of property rights. It is impossible to prevent deception and fraud against them,» said Sitnikov.

Under the law get single able-bodied women over 55 and men over 60 years with no one to take care of. As stated by the Governor, this task, under certain conditions, to take residents of the Kostroma region on the basis of family support of the elderly; old man will live together with the so-called adoptive family, they will have a common household.

It is noted that supervising agencies will conduct regular monitoring of compliance with family support services. The contract will provide penalties to the citizen who has violated these conditions.

It is planned that the organization of social services within three days from the date of the contract will have to inform the territorial bodies of the Ministry of interior, the head of the municipality, the regional notary chamber and the office of Rosreestr in the Kostroma region.
