The Iraqi Parliament has instructed the government to regain control of Baghdad’s oil fields in the disputed Kurdish areas, including Kirkuk province.

«The government should return the Northern fields in Kirkuk and the disputed areas under the supervision and control of the Federal Ministry of oil and to prevent the invasion of any party acting in these regions», — stated in the document that got into the disposal of RIA Novosti.

As previously reported, the Parliament instructed the Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi to send troops to the disputed areas of Kirkuk.

On Monday in the Autonomous Iraqi Kurdistan Baghdad held an unrecognized referendum on independence, including in areas which are officially under the Constitution of Iraq are not part of autonomy, particularly in oil-rich Kirkuk province. The Kurds occupied areas in Kirkuk in the fight against terrorist group «Islamic state.»*

The official results of the referendum in Iraqi Kurdistan will be announced on Thursday. The Iraqi authorities declared the referendum illegitimate and stressed that he would not negotiate with the regional government of the Autonomous Republic according to the results of the vote.
