AliExpress launches a platform Tmall, one of the leaders in e-Commerce in China, according to RBC, citing a source in the market of electronic Commerce and Director of development AliExpress in Russia Mark Zavadsky.

The pilot launch of an online store, along with the AliExpress part of Alibaba Group, will be held on October 28. Tmall official opening is scheduled for mid-October. The first time it will exist inside the AliExpress platform.

Tmall was established in 2008, and in 2010 received a separate domain. Its main differences from AliExpress are the following: first, on this site sell their goods big brands, not small companies or individuals; second, the bulk of the products belong to medium and high price categories.

Before the launch of Russia’s Tmall only worked in China. The website of the store is on the 14th place in attendance in the world (the fourth in China). AliExpress in this ranking is only 48-e a place. Mainly in the Tmall buy home appliances, clothes and baby products.

In Russia Tmall will work as a «marketplace» (online platform, systematizing information about different sellers), and as a retailer, selling goods to their own warehouses.
