The mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin said that the minimum pension in Moscow should be increased.

«The minimum pension established in Moscow, it is above that which is put in accordance with Federal law. However, what happened: the indexation of pensions at the Federal level has been less in recent years, and inflation was higher,» — said Sobyanin at a meeting with activists of veteran’s public on Thursday.

According to Sobyanin, the real incomes of pensioners in recent years began to decline.

«I think next year will still be increased Federal pension, but without waiting for this, I think, we need to significantly increase the minimum pension in Moscow. How to increase, let’s think together», — the mayor addressed to the veterans.

He proposed to establish a working group with the participation of veterans and to work out the best option to «to the tenth number (October) we walked over, clearly seeing how much budget to allocate, to ensure the normal minimum pension in Moscow.»

He reminded that this applies to more than 1 million Muscovites which will receive an additional surcharge. «This is a very important story,» added the mayor.
