More than two hundred Russian and foreign scientists will take part in the XIX International scientific-technical conference «Neuroinformatics-2017», which will open October 2, 2017 in the capital.

According to the expectations of many scientists, by the middle of this century to occur «nanotehnologicheskoj» revolution that will change the technological structure and many aspects of the lives of most earthlings.

«Lately, issues related to the development of artificial intelligence, Neurotechnology, machine learning, human-computer interfaces, is given great attention both in Russia and in the world», – told RIA Novosti Deputy Director of the Institute of intelligent cybernetic systems, National research nuclear University «MEPhI» Valentine Klimov.

In this regard, according to him, the University is holding a series of events which aims to take a worthy place in the emerging nanotehnologicheskoj the market.

The ability of artificial computing systems in terms of memory and processing power of information today has reached the capabilities of the human brain. However, despite this, there are still doubts about the prospects for the emergence of anything resembling the full scope of the human mind in artificial technology.

Head of Department of Neuroinformatics center of optical neural technologies research Institute for system studies (scientific research Institute for system) RAS Vitaly Dunin-Barkovsky said that on the basis of a group of journals of the series Frontiers in they together with the head of the Centre for mathematical modelling, University of Leicester (UK) Alexander Gorban undertook to provide a platform for the publication of works devoted to this topic.

«We believe that the time has come to announce the creation of artificial intelligence at the human level as a specific objective of modern science and technology, and we hope that our initiative will help early its achievement,» – said the researcher.

Among the speakers at the conference, which will last five days, the President of the Russian Association of Neuroinformatics, corresponding member of RAS, head of the Center for optical neural technologies srisa RAS Boris Kryzhanovsky, a senior researcher at the Department of Cybernetics of NRNU MEPhI Vladimir Redko, Vice-President of the Russian Association of Neuroinformatics, co-founder of the company «Acumen – information business-systems» Sergey Shumsky, head of Department of Neuroinformatics center of optical neural technologies srisa RAS Vitaly Dunin-Barkowski, Professor at the University of Leicester (UK) Alexander Gorban, etc.

Conference «Neuroinformatics» – a multidimensional scientific forum to discuss issues that relate to the active fields of scientific research: theory and applications of artificial neural networks to the problems of neurobiology and Biophysics, system, task, adaptive behavior and cognitive research.

Participants will attend lectures of renowned experts on the burning issues of Neuroinformatics, will discuss the problems of constructing an artificial brain. The conference will be a competition of young professionals for the best work in the thematic areas.
