Burning in Vinnytsia region military Arsenal securely and heavily guarded, the access of local residents to dangerous areas, the press service of the defense Ministry of Ukraine with reference to head of the military police in the armed forces of Ukraine Igor Kristuna.

On Tuesday evening September 26 warehouses in Kalinovka of Vinnytsia region exploded ordnance, the fire started. From Kalinovka and the surrounding villages were evacuated more than 30 thousand people, injured two. Media reported that the stock of stored missiles to multiple rocket launchers «Smerch», «Uragan» and «Grad». On Wednesday evening, the fire was localized, most of the ammunition was saved. According to local authorities, evacuated residents began to return home. On Saturday morning in the warehouse observed single explosions.

According to the defense Ministry, since the beginning of the emergency situation in the munitions depots near Kalinovka forces units of the military police and airborne forces organized a reinforced protection of the territory.

«In a period when there was a danger of scattering of ammunition and shrapnel to protect troops, security of the external perimeter was carried out at a distance of 0.5-1.5 km from the Arsenal. Today we continue to vigorously guard the external perimeter of a military unit, as well as the administrative part of the Arsenal. The whole area of the Arsenal on all sides securely covered,» said Crichton.

According to him, on the road, forest trails serve foot patrols and troops in armored personnel carriers, and in the danger zone, where there may be munitions or fragments, denied access to locals.

Earlier, the chief military Prosecutor of Ukraine Anatoly Matios said that the number of guard ammunition depot in Kalynivka, Vinnytsya region at the time of the explosions did not meet the level of congestion.
