The solemn ceremony commemorating the fallen heroes of the national and revolutionary struggle of China was held on Saturday in Central Tiananmen square in Beijing, it was attended by Chinese President XI Jinping, Premier of the state Council of China Li Keqiang and other senior officials of the state.

The day of remembrance of the fallen heroes is the newest national holiday in China, it was founded on 30 September 2014. Every year on the eve of the founding of the PRC October 1, on the main square of the country held a ceremony of laying wreaths at the Monument to national heroes.

In a ceremony in Tiananmen square on Saturday was attended by veterans, high-ranking Communist party members, military officials, and ten soldiers, who were awarded revived this year, the highest military award — the order of «First of August» (Bai).

Gathered in the main square of the country paid tribute to the participants of the long March (1934-1936), as well as those after the First opium war (1840-1842) gave their lives for national independence, prosperity and well-being of the Chinese people. In China such heroes, there are about 20 million.
