Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at the plenary session of the forum «Valdai», said former U.S. Secretary of state John Kerry is «a good guy» whose «not» arithmetic.

In his speech, the former President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai said that the Americans had previously called his country «a very cool and democratic state.»

«Because, as I told you yesterday, every Afghan is his own master. We are a very egalitarian country, and this egalitarianism gives us a basis for debate and discussion. But it must be our own debate. I have to say, I don’t like to mention this, but I have to say this is not democracy, John Kerry, is our democracy. He should not come and to count the votes, or to determine the number of votes in the region. This is our democracy, we have to practise in a way that is consistent with our traditions. As the Chinese said: we must choose its own development model. This is the right course,» Karzai said.

In turn, the Russian President made a joke on the fact that the Americans allegedly interfering in the electoral process in Afghanistan, spoke out about the former US Secretary of state John Kerry.

«John’s a good guy, but apparently arithmetic it is not yet», — Putin said.

Earlier, former adviser to Karzai’s national security, Rangin of Spanta accused Western countries, particularly the United States, that they «are blaming their strategic mistakes on the shoulders of the Afghans.»
