Four fighter Eurofighter Typhoon RAF arrived Tuesday at the airbase ämari airbase near Tallinn to practice in the airspace of the Republic of joint actions with the ground forces, said the Main headquarters of the Estonian defence Forces.

«The main purpose of the exercise, which will last until Friday, will be working off of interaction with aviation units based in Estonia land forces NATO», — said acting chief of staff of the air force of Estonia Colonel Riivo Valge.

Special attention during the exercises will be given to the actions of the gunner and fire spotters. In addition to Estonian and British experts, the maneuvers involving the gunners and spotters fire from Latvia and Slovenia.

«Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets will give a good opportunity for the allies-spotters fire exercise in Estonia in cooperation with air and ground troops. In addition, the British pilots will gain experience in difficult natural conditions,» — said the battalion commander of NATO Colonel Giles Harris.

During the exercise, British fighters will also make training flights over the territory of Estonia at low altitudes.

In accordance with the decision of the Warsaw summit of NATO in April this year in the Estonian military town of Tapa international is stationed a battalion of the Alliance. A NATO battalion is headed by the UK.

In the battalion — 1.2 thousand servicemen. The UK has provided more than 800 troops, France — more than 300 soldiers. The French military later will replace Denmark, which will send to Estonia 200 soldiers.
