The Council of heads of government of member States of the SCO, which will be held in Sochi on 30 November and 1 December, will be held in the format of «eight», this will give a new momentum to regional cooperation members of the organization, told reporters on Saturday, the SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov.

Alimov participated in the international conference on security issues in Central Asia held in Samarkand on November 10-11.

According to him, the agenda of the meeting in Sochi will be fully formed at the meeting of the Council of National coordinators of member States of the SCO, which will be held on November 25. «I mean the unit that concerns the trade-economic, social or humanitarian nature», — said the Secretary General of the organization.

«I think the most important thing we look for is, of course, the first meeting of heads of government within the eight. This has not happened», — said Alimov.

The SCO is an international organization founded in 2001 by the leaders of China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. In June 2016 at the summit in Tashkent was signed on the membership of India and Pakistan. At the SCO summit in Astana on 9 June, the leaders of member States of SCO signed the decision on the admission of India and Pakistan into the organization.
