Negotiations of presidents of Russia and Turkey Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Sochi.

The leaders talked for a little over four hours. Talking in a broad format, according to some, the heads of state again returned to the conversation in a narrow format.

Following the talks, Putin and Erdogan spoke to the press. However, a statement to journalists, began with a hitch because of the lack of simultaneous translation. Putin quickly found a solution by asking the interpreter to come to the microphone.

In the course of press statements the Russian leader stressed that the dialogue was productive. He also noted that the meeting with the Turkish colleague pass quickly, without bureaucracy and «excess number of quasi-diplomatic procedures».

The sides discussed the issues of the economy, in particular, last year’s decline in trade and restrictions on imports of agricultural products. The Turkish President has advocated the removal of the remaining restrictions in trade relations with Russia. He added that it is necessary to remove all obstacles to cooperation between businesses of the two countries to achieve a turnover of a hundred billion dollars.

In addition, Putin confirmed that Rosatom will soon start implementing a project NPP «Akkuyu.» In turn, Erdogan invited Russian President at the official ceremony of the first concrete pouring on the construction of nuclear power plants.

Also, the two leaders discussed the situation in Syria, the possibility of political settlement of the conflict. Erdogan stressed that the talks in Astana and the establishment of zones of de-escalation have contributed to the settlement of the Syrian crisis.
