The solemn ceremony of opening a memorial plaque to Andrew White at the house № 36 along the street Sverdlova in the town of Lebedyan in Lipetsk region, where in 1932 he lived a famous Russian poet and prose writer, will be held on November 17, the press service of the regional administration.

On the same day at the local history Museum will host a meeting with representatives of the authorities and the public, dedicated to this event.

«The opening of a memorial plaque is planned in the framework of the project «Andrei Bely in Lebedyan», which aims to help the preservation and restoration of houses, having historical and cultural significance, and also to commemorate the stay of the famous poet and writer and to attract public attention to the history of the region», — said the press service.

The project «Andrew White in Lebedyan ‘» implements the municipal Foundation of culture, which was supported by the presidential grants in the nomination «Preservation of historical memory.» The grant the project organizers will hold a series of meetings and lectures with young people, a conference of representatives of universities and museums. In addition, we will be opening the exhibition «Andrei Bely in Lebedyan». The project is conducted jointly with a Vivid local history Museum named after P. N. Chermen, a branch of the state Pushkin Museum «Memorial apartment of Andrei Bely» in Moscow and the state Directorate for the protection of cultural heritage Lipetsk region.
