Check average inhabitant of Russia in one trip to the store in October rose 1.5%, or 8 cents compared to September and amounted to 532 rubles, is spoken in the message of the research holding «ROMIR», which is available to RIA Novosti.

«In October the average check continued to grow, supporting the trend of the past two months. Thus, the amount of the average check reached 532 billion, up 8 cents, or 1.5% more than the September value. However, in comparison with October last year average bill showed negative dynamics is also 1.5%, down from 540 rubles», — stated in the study.

Drivers of growth of the average check by the Northwest and southern Federal districts, where the check for the month increased by 4.2% (to 663 rubles) and 4.9% (473 rubles), respectively. However, the strongest growth of the average check was recorded in the far East of the country – where the rate increased from 8.6% to 529 rubles. «However, in this region, these races are not uncommon, and they can be replaced in the next month the same disadvantage,» notes «ROMIR».

The average check of a resident of the Central district amounted to 616 rubles (plus 0.3 percent in comparison with September), the Volga — 458 rubles (minus 0.2%), Ural — 448 rubles (minus 4.1%) and Siberian – 436 roubles (plus 2.6 percent). In Moscow the average check in October increased by 2% and amounted to 698 roubles, in St.-Petersburg — on 0,4%, to 680 rubles.

«In October, the average bill behaved atypically in various shopping channels», — added in the study. At discounters, where for many months the average check showed growth in October dropped 2.1%, while in the traditional Commerce shops, where a cheque is reduced from month to month, in October it jumped 7.1%. In hypermarkets the average check increased by 3.6%, and in supermarkets – only 0.3%.

«Probably the Russians in October focused more on major purchases in hypermarkets, ignoring a few smaller shopping formats,» says «ROMIR».

The study «ROMIR» is based on the consumption data of 30 million Russians, 11 million households in 180 cities with population over 100 thousand people. Participants in the scan panel to scan the barcodes of all purchased goods we bring home. Scan data in online mode is transferred to the database of the study.
