A member of the CEC of Russia Valery Kryukov offered to the next Federal election to think about remote voting for the residents of inaccessible and remote territories that are now voting early.

On Wednesday, the CEC adopted a decree regulating the process of transfer of technical channels of communication during the presidential elections in 2018, the information from the polling stations on ships, at polar stations, in remote, remote locations or outside the Russian Federation.

«Also it’s time to Finance a study of remote voting persons who are in these places. We have in the Nenets Autonomous district, 30 people that are at the observation points at a distance of thousands of kilometers, only the helicopter can get to them, and it is much more fun than working for us on these issues,» — said Kryukov.

According to him, now it is necessary to continue working to expand the possibilities of using technical means of communication, including in the conduct of early voting at such sites. In addition, the CEC member proposed to establish additional remuneration for members of district election commissions that operate in remote areas, and to provide for the insurance of life and health.

Because clarification of these issues requires time, hooks suggested «to the next Federal election be consistent with these proposals.» The members of the CEC decided to prepare a legal order to work through these issues with the CEC.

Traditionally, voters who live in remote or inaccessible areas and on voting day will not be able to come to the polling station, organized early voting, similar to the election shall occur at polar stations and ships that will be at sea, as well as some foreign polling stations. In General, for all voters, early voting in Federal elections does not apply.
