«Kaspersky lab» recorded the intensification of Chinese-speaking hackers in the third quarter of 2017, the main objectives of which were, in particular, the Russian state projects with a number of Asian countries, said in a statement.

Thus, during the reporting period, the experts of «Kaspersky Lab» investigated 24 incident, the recognized targeted attacks and cyber espionage campaigns, and 10 of them were organized groups of attackers, speaking in Chinese. The attack was mainly on the developers of the popular software, but also on government agencies and critical industries of several countries.

According to analysts of the company, one of the main targets of these hackers was Russia, or rather its state projects with some Asian countries. So, in July we discovered an attack IronHusky, the purpose of which were companies from the aviation sector of Russia and Mongolia (previously, the countries agreed to cooperate in the development of projects of air defense of Mongolia). In addition, at this time, was attacked energy companies in Russia and India after the signing of the agreement between the two countries on cooperation in the nuclear sector.

Popular FOR victims of Chinese speaking attackers have become So and CCleaner, which was implemented in malicious codes.

«The trend of infestation of organizations across the supply chain, in this case, through software vendors, is gaining momentum… the Attackers know the prospect of such tactics, which gives them a great set of goals and allows you to stay in the shadows. We believe that in the near future they will increasingly use this technique, and therefore many organizations should reconsider their tactics against targeted attacks,» – said the head of the Russian research center «Kaspersky Lab» Yuri Namestnikov, whose words are reported.
