Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian said on Friday that his meeting with the Minister of foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov may be held in Vienna on 6, 7 or 8 Dec.

«Will organized a meeting between the foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan in the framework of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Vienna. This meeting may be held on 6, 7 or 8 Dec. Exact date not set, but agreed to this meeting gave both parties», — Edward Nalbandian said at a joint press conference with Minister of foreign Affairs of Brazil, Aloisio Nunez Ferreyra.

Thus, according to him, the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk group on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict urged parties «to refrain from destructive maximalist approaches, renewed commitment to an exclusively peaceful solution to the problem, to respect the ceasefire, to respect reached before the arrangement».

Earlier official representative of Azerbaijani foreign Ministry Hikmet Hajiyev said that the meeting of foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia on settlement of the Karabakh conflict may be held in Vienna on 7-8 December.

The conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh began in February 1988 when Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous region (NKAR) announced their withdrawal from the Azerbaijani SSR. In September 1991, in the centre of Nagorno-Karabakh Stepanakert it has been declared creation of Nagorno-the Karabakh Republic (NKR). The Azerbaijani authorities during the subsequent military conflict have lost control over Nagorno-Karabakh.

The negotiations for a peaceful settlement of the conflict conducted within the framework of the OSCE Minsk group since 1992. Azerbaijan insists on maintaining its territorial integrity, Armenia protects interests of unrecognized Republic as Nagorno-Karabakh is not a party to the negotiations.
