Russian energy Minister Alexander Novak at the meeting with the Minister of energy and industry of Brunei Mohammad yasmin Bin Umar discussed cooperation in the framework of the deal, OPEC, according to the Russian Ministry of energy.

«The heads of energy agencies of Russia and Brunei discussed the state and prospects of cooperation in the energy sphere… Also it was a question of cooperation in the framework of the agreement OPEC+ for the reduction of oil production. The parties confirmed their commitment to the fulfillment of the commitments made to achieve a speedy rebalancing of the oil market», — stated in the message.

Novak pointed out Russia’s readiness to cooperate with Brunei partners in the framework of development of investment cooperation between the two countries.

Brunei is a party to the transaction OPEC+.

OPEC November 30, 2016 in Vienna agreed to reduce its production by 1.2 million barrels a day from October level. Eleven non-OPEC countries (Russia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Brunei, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Mexico, Oman, Equatorial Guinea, Sudan and South Sudan) 10 Dec agreed to reduce its production a total of 558 thousand barrels per day. The agreement was concluded for the first half of 2017, and in may extended for another nine months — until the end of March 2018.
