The level of trade between Russia and Georgia can achieve by the end of 2017, one billion dollars, said RIA Novosti Deputy foreign Minister Grigory Karasin, who on Thursday held in Prague the next round of talks with the special representative of the Prime Minister of Georgia Zurab Abashidze.

«Trade between Russia and Georgia is developing dynamically. For the first ten months of this year its level exceeded $ 800 million. It is quite possible that by the end of 2017 will be achieved the mark of one billion dollars», — said Karasin.

In August 2008, Georgia broke off diplomatic relations with Russia in response to Moscow’s recognition of independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. However, the new government of Georgia was named one of the top priorities of foreign policy normalization of relations with Russia.

At the moment, the dialogue between Russia and Georgia supported in the framework of the Geneva discussions and regular meetings in Prague, Deputy foreign Minister Grigory Karasin and special envoy of the Prime Minister of Georgia Zurab Abashidze. Discusses humanitarian, transport, economic and cultural issues.
