The youngest country in Africa, Uganda, the name of which most people in the world is associated with a dictatorial regime, «the Lord of all the beasts on earth and fishes in the sea» IDI Amin, has recently become one of the centers of Russian old believers. About two hundred local Christians pray from books of the seventeenth century, the cross with two fingers and admire Vladimir Putin, respecting the religious traditions of all peoples of Russia. What problems and hopes live African believers and why compatriots scared of their beards, said the head of the mission of Russian Orthodox old believe Church (rpsts) in Uganda the priest Nikola Bobkov.

And his father Nicola wants to build in Uganda chicken farm. Here the egg is a delicacy, so the project will earn some money to the community and will provide an opportunity for local residents to find myself a good exercise. This, according to his calculations, we need only about $ 13 thousand (half million), but so far that kind of money, the believers are not.

«I had a long talk about the socio-economic mission, and I couldn’t understand what it is. It turns out that this legacy of the Western Christian tradition… in Addition to faith is necessary to bring something else, and for them (local residents. — Approx. ed.), something meaningful. The country itself is very poor, and to lift a person is not easy. Those who rise, hire people and say, «You do, and I’ll pay you back». And «then» is like we in the 90-ies, that is, never,» says the priest.

The believers in Uganda for a long time, and they do not hide it. After the seventh trip to Africa father Nicola says finally local Christians began to trust him. «We understand that more must pass 10-20 years before our faith will perceive in its entirety. But when Prince Vladimir, not all at once become Christians and prayed at all such bylaws, as in Byzantium. And look: now in Russia pray more than in Greece! Africans have a great desire to find the truth, the source. How come there are so many Churches and everyone is talking about the truth of their faith. So, somewhere there must be one real,» concludes father Nicola.African sermon: how the people of Uganda become believers, and for that I respect Putin
