Egyptian authorities Saturday in an exceptional manner for three days opened the checkpoint «Rafah» on the border with the Palestinian Gaza strip for the resolution of humanitarian problems, according to the Egyptian newspaper Al-Masry Al-Youm, citing an Egyptian official.

«We coordinated with the Palestinian side to open the checkpoint for three days to get through everyone who is in a difficult situation: the students, the sick, and to (resolution) of the humanitarian problems», — said the newspaper’s source.

The official also said that Egyptian authorities checked out preparatory work to facilitate the crossing of Palestinians in both directions and has allocated additional vehicles to transport them.

It is reported that Cairo is always ready to open the border passes for the needs of the Palestinians.

The first of November in Gaza, the ceremony of transfer of authority on management of border points of the sector from the Central structures of Hamas to the Palestinian authority. In the coming days on these objects must be placed staff subject to the Palestinian government in Ramallah.

For most of the 1.8 million residents of the Gaza strip to the Palestinian-Egyptian checkpoint «Rafah» remains the only potentially accessible to the outside world.
