An earthquake of magnitude 6.5 occurred on Saturday in the Tibetan Autonomous region in Western China, according to Chinese seismological centre.

Tremors were recorded at 06.34 local time (01.34 GMT) in the County, Nyingchi, East of Tibet Autonomous region of China. The earthquake lies at a depth of 38 kilometers.

Information about the victims, casualties or destruction in the earthquake were reported.
