Polish border guards on Saturday was not allowed into the country of the responsible Secretary of the Ukrainian State interdepartmental Commission on Affairs of perpetuating of memory of participants of the antiterrorist operation, victims of war and political repression Svyatoslav Sheremet. This Ukrainian official said the Lviv edition «Options».

Sheremeta said that he went to the Polish city Lancut with the Ukrainian delegation. At the checkpoint «shehyni» the Polish border guards took his passport and told to wait for a shift supervisor. That, in turn, notified the official that he has banned entry to Poland.

Sheremet said that he has a valid Schengen visa issued by Germany.

Earlier Warsaw refused to let the Ukrainians with anti-Polish views. The Minister of foreign Affairs of Poland Witold Waszczykowski said that because of the historical differences between Ukraine and the European countries, Kiev waiting for «real problems».

Polish media reported that the list of persons banned entry to Poland, was Svyatoslav Sheremet, the head of the Institute of national memory Volodymyr viatrovych. In this case the Polish authorities have refused to officially publish compiled a blacklist Ukrainians that they learned about the ban on entry directly at the border.

In Ukraine there are cases where local Polish nationalists desecrate monuments. So, in the Lviv region vandals blew up the monument to poles murdered by the SS division «Galicia» in 1944, and in Kiev — painted symbols of «Galicia» memorial to the Polish cemetery.
