Russian television can ban the show dubbed films and programmes, reports RT with reference to the author of the application, the Deputy of legislative Assembly of Leningrad region Vladimir Petrov.

It is noted that the statement has been sent to the Ministry of education. The document States that all foreign programs should be broadcast with the original sound, accompanied by subtitles in Russian.

According to Petrov, these changes will encourage citizens to learn foreign languages and will allow the TV to perform not only entertaining, but also educational function.

The MP stressed that the initiatives, if approved, he personally is ready to proceed to draft the necessary legal acts for its implementation.
