The head of the Duma Committee on information, information technologies and communications Leonid Levin («Fair Russia») stated that to reduce the prevalence of criminal subculture among young people will help promoting positive role models and support talented young people at the state level.

Earlier in the Duma was introduced a bill banning the propaganda of the criminal subculture. According to the document, in the media, information and telecommunication networks shall be prohibited «propaganda of the criminal subculture, which is expressed in the dissemination of information about socio-cultural values of the criminal underworld, leading to the formation of the attractiveness of criminal patterns of conduct». According to the explanatory Memorandum, Roskomnadzor will have the right to block sites, the content of which forms an indication of the attractiveness of the criminal life, out of court.

«We must fight not with the content, forming the «attractive» image of the criminal world, and with the reasons that motivate young people to subscribe to the relevant pages in social networks and to repeat certain behaviors. It is obvious that the issue lies primarily in the plane of education, a condition which leads to such in fact archaisms, when «romance of the underworld», which is a relic of the 90s and naughties, somebody is actively trying to migrate to modern realities, and they in some measure this is, unfortunately, possible», — quotes the words of Levin’s press service.

According to him, the youth need to see other role models and they need in the language which is understood by young people. According to the Deputy, for the education of the responsible family.
