Non-traditional forms of sex have become more popular in recent years compared with the early 1990s among young people, say scientists in an article published in the Journal of Adolescent Health.

«Observing when and how young people begin to have sex, will help us to formulate new approaches to sex education and discussion what are the dangers brought about by these or other unconventional forms of intimacy. This will allow young people to avoid health problems in the future,» said Ruth Lewis (Ruth Lewis) from the London school of hygiene and tropical medicine (UK).

In recent years the society has strengthened two conflicting stereotype. The first suggests that Teens today are very Mature early and begin to drink alcohol and sexually active before they graduate from school. The second suggests that today’s young people, on the contrary, Matures very late, lives with his parents and has to be 25-30 years.

On the other hand, a recent study by psychologists draw an opposite pattern: for example, American scientists discovered last year that the current young men and women were less splayed and more modest than their parents of the «Pepsi generation» and their grandfathers and great-grandfathers of the generation of «the sixties.»

Lewis and her colleagues tried to understand which of these perspectives is correct, then analyzing how changing two important parameters associated with the sexual behavior of young people: that when they started to have sex and what forms they practiced in the first 25 years of life.

To study these changes, the London school of hygiene and tropical medicine for several decades, holds a special social surveys, which were attended by approximately 45 thousand young Britons has just begun an independent life in those periods of time when carried out another round of questionnaires.

As shown by the analysis of the latest data, part of the aspects of the sexual behavior of youth has changed dramatically in the last two decades, but some habits remained the same.

In particular, these include when boys and girls begin first kiss and first sex — 14 and 16 years. On the other hand, has changed what sex involved adolescents and youth — non-traditional forms of sexual relations, such as anal and oral sex has become more and more popular today.

According to scientists, two decades ago, they were carried away about a tenth of boys and girls, whereas today in this confession about one in four respondents to the young person and every fifth Respondent a young woman. Even more, this figure rose among adolescents aged 16-18 years.

Scientists believe that these changes in the sexual behavior of young people associated with the increasing «sexualization» of mass culture and the dissemination of such interests in the global network. According to Lewis, all that is necessary to take into account social services and teachers in schools to protect young people from possible health problems and the spread of genital infections characteristic of such forms of sex.
