Daily light physical exercises, which include Jogging and doing household tasks has a positive effect on life expectancy, stated in the work of U.S. doctors, published in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society.

The study involved 6 thousand women aged 65 to 99 years. The researchers tracked their physical activity using fitness trackers for a week, after which the doctors watched the health of women for the next three years.

According to the results, mortality of those who paid a physical activity for at least 30 minutes a day, was 12% lower than among those who led a predominantly sedentary lifestyle. Increase daily activities to an hour reduced the probability of dying by 39%.

Scientists say that the definition of physical activity fall household duties, including cleaning and washing dishes, and walking in the fresh air.

«For a long time it was believed that such activities are not enough to be healthy. But now we have proof that even the light load reduces women’s probability of dying in the next three or four years,» says senior research specialist Andrea Lacroix.
