The upcoming presidential elections are of great importance for the country, they should be as open and honest, here the Central election Commission can not do without public support, said the CEC head, Ella Pamfilova.

«The forthcoming presidential elections of Russia which will take place in March next year, of course, for the country are of great importance, it does not diminish… that’s Why elections should be held transparently, honestly, with the highest level of confidence in their result. And we certainly can not do without public support,» Pamfilova told reporters on Tuesday before the conference, the CEC on public surveillance.

In the framework of the conference the Central election Commission and the Public chamber of the Russian Federation signed a cooperation agreement, which provides for, including the organization of public control of observance of electoral rights, the measures on development of legal culture and electoral activity, training of members of election commissions and observers.

Wednesday, November 15, the state Duma adopted in the first reading a bill that allows the Public chamber of the Russian Federation and regional public chambers to send their observers to election commissions during elections of the President. The project also proposes to legislate the possibility of placing video surveillance and broadcasting of images in the territorial electoral commissions (TECS) in establishing their voting results.

The authors of the bill made by the head of the state Duma Committee on state construction and legislation Pavel Krasheninnikov, the Chairman of the Committee on constitutional legislation and state building of the Federation Council Andrey Klishas. The relevant amendments are proposed to the law «On elections of the President of the Russian Federation».

Regular elections of the President of Russia will be held in March 2018, the campaign is supposed to start in December 2017.
