President Vladimir Putin will hold a big press conference on 14 December, the press service of the Kremlin.

Began accreditation wishing to participate in the event. The application deadline is December 1. They can apply for the Russian media registered with Roskomnadzor and foreign journalists accredited with the MFA.

The practice of holding large press conferences for the year Putin introduced in 2001 during the first term. Record duration of event was in 2008, when 4 hours 40 minutes, the President answered 106 questions. Only seven minutes less last press conference in 2012, then there were some unusual questions, including about the end of the world.

In 2016, the communication with the journalists lasted 3 hours and 50 minutes, the President asked 67 questions. A considerable part of them was devoted to the domestic and regional agenda. Also the press was interested in international issues: the situation in Syria and the Ukraine, relations with Turkey and the United States. Accredited for the event, a record number of media representatives — 1437.

In recent years large press conference traditionally held on Thursdays. Only in 2016 it was moved to Friday, because the President participated in the ceremonies associated with the farewell to murdered Turkish Ambassador Andrei Karlov.

The current big press conference will be Putin’s last during this term. Presidential elections will be held in March 2018. It is not known whether the incumbent leader to run.
